The 16th annual meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA) will start at Sofitel Legend Metropole, Hanoi on September 6.

Hanoi has completed the preparation for the 16th annual meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia, from September 5 to 10, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
According to leaders of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the 16th annual meeting of CPTA will have many kinds of events including a welcome party for delegates on September 5, the opening ceremony on September 6, the workshop of CPTA member cities on September 7, CPTA exhibition from September 8 to 9, etc.
Participants of the event are representatives from CPTA member cities, including Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Delhi (India), Jakarta (Indonesia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Metropolitan Manila (the Philippines), Seoul (South Korea), Taipei (Taiwan – China), and Tomsk (Russia).
The meeting is set to review cooperative activities implemented during the past years and design plans to carry out new projects. Participant will define responsibilities of state tourism management agencies and municipal governments, as well as tourism agencies and businesses in developing tourism in CPTA member cities.
Accordingly, CPTA member cities will seek measures to lure more visitors to Asia through cooperative projects, programs and campaigns. The meeting will also focus on strengthening cooperation between member cities as well as between tourism promotion agencies and businesses.
Following a rotating mechanism, this is an opportunity to promote Hanoi’s tourism to regional markets and intensify the reputation of the capital as a safe, friendly, quality and attractive destination.
This is the third time Hanoi hosts the regional meeting. In 2012, the 11th annual meeting of CPTA opened in Hanoi, with delegates from 10 regional countries and territories taking part in.
