In Norway, Chung had a meeting on May 24 with seven Norwegian leading corporations namely ITS Norway, Pixii AS, Ruter, Avfall Norge, Cambi, Host and Tomra, which operate in the fields of smart transportation, energy, public transport development, waste treatment and plastic recycling. The official said Hanoi would create favorable conditions for Norwegian companies to do business and support the city in the process of urban development.
At the meeting, Chung informed that Hanoi is among Vietnam’s three cities taking part in ASEAN’s smart city network.
Facing numerous challenges in the urbanization process, Chung said the city is willing to support Norwegian companies looking for business opportunities and transferring technologies, deeming Norwegian technologies as capable of addressing Hanoi’s current issues.
In response, a number of Norwegian companies informed they would soon send a business delegation to Hanoi in a bid to inquire about investment and business opportunities.
On May 23, Chung had a meeting with Moscow’s Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, during which the two leaders signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two cities in the 2019 – 2021 period. The MoU mapped out plan for Moscow’s supports to Hanoi in smart transport and public services management, education and technology transfer in healthcare sector.
