Hanoi will reduce a number of conferences, seminars, public ceremonies and overseas trips and cancel all groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies.

Accordingly, the city will focus on effective tasks and solutions to remove difficulties for production and business, ensure social order and safety to restore and develop its economy, and strive to achieve all socio-economic development targets set by the municipal People's Council.
Besides, Hanoi authorities will tighten discipline on financial and budgetary practices; drastically implement measures to combat tax loss, tax evasion and deal with tax arrears; strictly control the local budget deficit; manage public debt in accordance with regulations; along with other measures.
The Hanoi People's Committee has set a series of goals to save and combat waste in various fields.Specifically, the city targets saving 10% on recurrent expenses; thoroughly tighten budget spending; reduce the number of conferences, seminars, public ceremonies, overseas trips and cancel all groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies.
The city has also reduced state budget subsidies to public administrations' service units in association with trimming off payrolls by at least 5-10% compared to the estimation.
Especially, the municipal government will review public assets, including housing and land facilities, to ensure that they are used for the right purposes, standards, and norms in accordance with regulations and requirements.
