Hanoi to build 250-bed eye hospital

Hanoi will build a $28.4 million, 250-bed Eye Hospital in Ha Dong District to expand public eye care and reduce hospital overcrowding.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi has approved a project on the reconstruction of a new eye hospital in Phu Luong Ward, Ha Dong District, with a total investment of US$28.4 million and a capacity of 250 beds.

The health facility will consist of a nine-story main building and basement.

The hospital will also be equipped with extensive infrastructure, including roads, utilities, lighting, fire protection, IT systems, and medical gas networks.

Currently, international eye hospitals in Hanoi, such as DND, Japan Eye Hospital, and Vietnam-Russia Eye Hospital, provide high-quality ophthalmology services with advanced equipment and experienced medical professionals. However, public eye hospitals in Hanoi are often overloaded. The upcoming eye hospital in Ha Dong is expected to help meet the growing demand for eye care services.

Hanoi is home to several renowned public ophthalmology hospitals, including the Central Eye Hospital, Vietnam's leading ophthalmology institution with more than 100 years of experience in treatment, training, and research. In addition, Hanoi Eye Hospital 2, a modernized facility with partial private funding, is also a trusted provider of eye care services.
