Regarding the compensation value of US$81 million requested by the contractor, the leaders of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board denied that the loss was incurred by the delayed land clearance and disbursement.
The Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board said that they will discuss with Nhon - Hanoi Railway project’s contractor about the compensation of US$81 million due to delayed clearance and disbursement.
At the meeting with leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee, Deputy Director of Nhon - Hanoi Railway project Romano Mauro Ruggero requested the compensation.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board Le Trung Hieu said the contractor has to demonstrate the evidence showing the responsibilities of the investor for the contractor’s loss. The contractor was also asked explain the causes incurring the loss under Vietnamese regulations.
As a rule, the two sides will have a negotiation time of 84 days. In the process, the contractor keeps executing the project and does nothing to harm its progress.
