Hanoi to enhance regulation inspection on parking services

The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Official Letter No. 1786/UBND-KT on enhancing inspection of implementing State regulations on parking services in the area.

Under the Official Letter, the Department of Transport will take prime responsibility and coordinate with Departments of Information and Communications; Finance; Taxation and relevant agencies to strengthen the popularization of the State’s regulations on parking fees and timely receive and give full information reflected by press agencies to create consensus among people when applying new parking fees in the are.
The Department of Information and Communications will take prime responsibility and coordinate with relevant units to continue monitoring contents on websites and social network so as to take solutions to effectively combat negative information and burning issues. 
People’s Committees of districts and towns are tasked to establish inspection teams to monitor parking lots in localities and strictly handle violation cases as stipulated by law.
Chair-People of district People Committees are responsible for directing Chair-people of People Committees of wards, communes to drastically remove illegal parking lots.
People’s Committees of districts, towns also ask People’s Committees of wards, communes to arrange temporary parking lots in areas with frequent traffic jams in festivals so as to ensure urban security and order.
The Municipal Police Department will request police forces in districts, towns and relevant units to regularly check and maintain the order in parking lots, especially crowded areas and festivals; jointly handle illegal parking lots as regulated; coordinate with local authorities to inspect the enforcement of regulations on parking services and strictly handle violators.
Basing on functions and assigned missions, departments, sectors, Chair-people of People’s Committees of districts, towns will take direct responsibility to the Municipal People Committee if there are illegal parking lots in localities.
