The Hanoi People’s Committee granted Official Letter No. 6371/UBND-DT on December 14, focusing on meeting people’s demands for travel as well as ensuring traffic safety and order during Tet Holiday of 2018.
Under the Official Letter, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Transport to take prime responsibility and cooperate with the Hanoi Transport Corporation and enterprises with transport services to improve the quality of services, ensure safety of vehicles, increase number of vehicles to meet people’s travel demands, keep order and environmental sanitation at bus stations; innovate ticketing mode, apply the ticketing via internet and prevent illegal increase of fare price; ensure security, safety and convenience for passengers during Tet; enhance supervision, inspection and handling of violation cases; remove illegal bus stations.
Moreover, Departments of Transport, Police will direct Transportation Inspectorate, Traffic Police and functional forces to establish inter-sectorial teams to maintain mobile patrols to drastically handle violation cases as well as to ensure traffic order at key routes and areas; make plans on ensuring traffic safety on major routes and timely removing traffic jams on rush hours; boost inspection, supervision of implementing regulations of traffic safety and environmental protection on traffic works under construction in the Capital City.
Besides, the Department of Transport is tasked to cooperate with People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts, towns and railway, waterway units to carry out measures for traffic safety at crossroads between roads and railways, docks, wharves, waterway ports on river routes in the area; focus on coordinating with the People’s Committee of My Duc District to ensure order and traffic safety in Huong Pagoda Festival.
