The Hanoi People`s Committee assigned the municipal Department of Planning and Investment and CIS Investment Joint Stock Company to propose the official application of iParking.
The Hanoi People's Committee has agreed to extend piloting Iparking in vehicle keeping after its introduction in October 1 last year, local media reported.
Since its introduction last year, the Iparking application has helped increase the city’s revenue from parking by 200%, become a convenient means for cars and motorcycle drivers to find parking space.
Besides, it is a tool to manage revenue effectively and transparently, and avoid budget loss.
Thus, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the municipal Department of Planning and Investment and CIS Investment Joint Stock Company to propose the official application of iParking.
The municipal Department of Transport will assume the prime responsibility for inspecting and strictly handling violations and even withdrawing license of vehicle parking from organizations and individuals who break regulations on the service.
Since April 2017, the municipal People's Committee authorized Hanoi Parking One-member Co., Ltd. and CIS Investment Joint Stock Company to pilot Iparking application via cellphones at Ly Thuong Kiet and Tran Hung Dao streets.
The local government has announced incentives for contruction of parking lots. On July 22 this year, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Transport Nguyen Xuan Thanh said that the city will exempt land rent fee for the first 10 years (excluding the commercial area) of static traffic projects. Privately invested projects will be considered for land rent subsidies beyond the first 10 years.
Enterprises investing in static transport infrastructure will also get loans from the city’s investment and development fund with preferential interest rates, Thanh said, adding that investments with loans from banks will benefit from interest subsidies of 50% in the first five years.
