Hanoi to hold children’s book festival 2017

Department of Information and Communications has recently issued a plan to organize Children’s book festival 2017 in responding to Action month for children 2017.

Accordingly, the festival is scheduled to be held from June 1-7 at Book Street at December 19 Street in Hoan Kiem District. Books in various genres (literary books; history books, science books, e-books, etc) will be displayed and introduced at the fair.

Children to the fair will have an opportunity to be involved in numerous interesting activities, including painting, reading stories, and talking with famous authors.

Especially, on this occasion, the Organising Committee launched a contest to look for ambassadors of reading culture for students in primary and secondary schools in the capital.

The Department of Information and Communications will assume the prime responsibility and collaborate with People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District and relevant units to organize the event.

The book festival aims at increasing children and student's access to books on the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1) and welcoming upcoming summer break, developing the passion for reading of children, encouraging and promoting reading in the community and teaching respect towards parents and teachers.
