Cities around the world are piloting new technologies to develop smart cities. Hanoi is one of the cities in Vietnam that are in a move to facilitate the process of smart urban development.
The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued the plan to hold the ASOCIO Smart City Summit - Hanoi 2018 with the theme of "Building smarter and safer cities by digital solutions."
Under the plan, the Hanoi People's Committee in coordination with the Asian - Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) and the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) will hold the event on September 17-19.
Apart from official activities, there will be accompanying activities such as exhibition on products, services, solutions for smart cities; trade between Vietnam and international IT companies; organizing exchange activities between Hanoi’s businesses and the ones from other countries, ASOCIO’s member economies and the world’s member economies to attend the summit.
ASOCIO Smart City Summit 2018 will include some targets as sharing views, vision on smart city development by mayors, city leaders in Vietnam, in the region and around the world; introducing and providing information on models and solutions for smart urban construction and deployment; introducing realistic models, experience from cities that have successfully launched smart cities in the region.
Other topics will include collecting comments from experts and enterprises on smart urban construction to deploy in Hanoi and other provinces and cities of Vietnam, and promoting business cooperation between Hanoi’s IT enterprises and international ones.
