Hanoi to host the 31st SEA Games

Hanoi People`s Committee has confirmed that it would host the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2021.

Hanoi's leaders said that the city hosted the 22nd Games in 2003 and the Asian Indoor Games in 2009, and Hanoi meets all demands for the 2021 SEA Games.
According to the city's leaders, Hanoi does not have to build new facilities, but just needs to upgrade the available ones for the 31st SEA Games.
Head of the National Sports Administration Vuong Bich Thang said that the SEA Games are expected to have 30 sporting disciplines in November 2021.

Most of events will take place in Hanoi, while some will be held in neighbouring cities and provinces such as Hai Phong, Hai Duong and Bac Ninh. 
The total expenses for the Games are expected to be more than 1.700 billion VND.
The 29th SEA Games will be organised in Malaysia next year, while the host of the 30th Games has not yet been named as the Philippines and Brunei are the two candidates.
