Dazzling festive scenes light up Hanoi’s shopping malls

As the year draws to a close, a gentle Christmas spirit drifts through Hanoi, turning the city’s shopping malls into glowing festive landmarks.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi’s shopping malls are lighting up the festive season with towering Christmas trees and shimmering light displays, turning into popular gathering points and must-visit destinations for young people, families and visitors during the 2025 celebrations.

Major shopping centers such as Lotte Mall, Vincom, Trang Tien Plaza and The Loop are dressed in festive splendor, inviting passersby to pause and capture the magic of Christmas in the heart of the city.

Standing tall against the night sky, the giant Christmas tree at Lotte Center Hanoi is a striking highlight, as it bathed in constantly shifting LED lights, casting a warm glow over the surrounding streets. Inside the mall, entrances and walkways are equally adorned, creating a seamless festive experience that draws in crowds of shoppers and visitors.

Quang Huy, a 24-year-old office worker, said he noticed the brightly lit Christmas tree at Lotte Mall on way home from work. At night, the changing LED lights make it incredibly impressive.

Do Thanh Huong, a resident of Hai Ba Trung Commune who visited with her child, said: “This year, the decorations are much more spectacular, with beautiful spots for taking photos. Trang Tien Plaza feels luxurious, while Vincom is vibrant and youthful. I brought my child early to avoid the crowds and enjoy more time capturing these special moments before Christmas.”

Hanoi’s shopping malls offer welcoming spaces for leisure and celebration while enhancing the city’s urban landscape, presenting the capital as modern, vibrant and full of seasonal warmth during the holiday season.

Children laughed, played and posed happily in front of brightly colored trees, embodying the joyful spirit of the season. And so, another year waits at the door, filled with hope for happiness.

Just across Lieu Giai Street, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree welcomes guests in front of the Lotte Center, adding to the festive charm of the area.

A side hall in the center is also thoughtfully decorated.

The lively atmosphere has made it a favorite destination for families and young visitors eager to capture cheerful holiday moments.

The space evokes the atmosphere of a fairy tale.

Meanwhile, Vincom Ba Trieu Shopping Mall dazzles visitors with a giant Christmas tree surrounded by playful displays, including an eye-catching Christmas bear installation.

A magical sight that appears only once a year.

At Trang Tien Plaza, classic European-inspired décor takes center stage.

Oversized gift boxes, snow globes and sparkling LED lights illuminate the surrounding Trang Tien street, creating a refined and nostalgic atmosphere.

Nearby, the historic Metropole Hotel adds to Hanoi’s Christmas charm with its own magnificent display with a towering Christmas tree complemented by shimmering lights lining its iconic windows.

Festive installations offer welcoming spaces for leisure and celebration while enhancing the city’s urban landscape, presenting the capital as modern, vibrant and full of seasonal warmth during the holiday season.
