Showcasing signature crafts, bustling food stalls and historic settings, the annual festival captures the essence of Hanoi for every visitor.

Organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the event highlights authentic dishes, local ingredients and culinary techniques alongside signature handicrafts with more than 100 booths recreating the atmosphere of Hanoi’s old neighborhoods, offering visitors a chance to taste regional specialties while exploring craft demonstrations and cultural displays.

Spanning 5,000 square meters, the festival is divided into three zones: traditional craft villages, culinary areas and miniature cultural landmarks. The layout guides visitors through each space to explore history, craftsmanship and flavor.

The “Craft Villages Telling Stories of the Past and Present” zone highlights Hanoi’s artisanal heritage. Bat Trang pottery, Van Phuc silk, Phu Vinh rattan weaving and Chuong village hats showcase skills passed down through generations.

A recreated Hang Ma Street captures the atmosphere before Tet with decorations and folk crafts. Visitors can watch artisans shape pottery, weave rattan, spin silk, craft paper fans and make traditional hats.

“The Old Fragrance Still Forever” offers a culinary tour of Hanoi. The festival features traditional feasts, West Lake lotus tea and specialties from craft villages such as Vong young sticky rice, Phu Thuong sticky rice, Thanh Tri rice rolls and Uoc Le sausage. Pho, bun cha and egg coffee are paired with cooking demonstrations from master chefs.

The “Strolling Hanoi” zone presents miniature models of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Long Bien Bridge and Turtle Tower. Images and brief narratives show the city’s evolution and introduce new tours and cultural experiences.

Visitors can join craft activities, taste traditional dishes, meet artisans and chefs and explore recreated old streets. Ceremonies and community events add to the atmosphere, while city authorities ensure safety and comfort for all.
