EU christmas market returns to Hanoi with culture, food, films and charity

The EU Christmas Market 2025 will bring European cuisine, performances, family activities and charitable programs supporting disadvantaged children to Hanoi.

THE HANOI TIMES — The EU Christmas Market, which has built strong momentum after three vibrant editions since 2022, will return to Hanoi on December 14 following its earlier event in Ho Chi Minh City on December 6.

As the host, the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam will bring Hanoians and visitors a European holiday atmosphere with food and beverage stalls, craft and decoration booths and a dedicated space screening animated films for children.

The event follows European culture, in which Christmas transforms city streets with cool winter air, sparkling lights, the scent of baked goods and mulled wine and lively outdoor festivities. The holiday represents togetherness, when families and communities gather to welcome a peaceful new year.

In Hanoi, the market will run from 10.00 to 21.00 on December 14 inside the Embassy of the Czech Republic at 13 Chu Van An. Organizers plan a wide range of booths and hands-on activities for all ages to attract young people, families and visitors interested in European culture.

Visitors can explore gift stalls that showcase accessories, Christmas ornaments and handicrafts. Food and beverage vendors will serve cookies, gelato, pizza, tiramisu, wine and hot tea.

Families can join interactive activities such as games and craft-making sessions, while music lovers can enjoy live performances, DJ sets, choirs and artistic shows. Children can watch screenings of European animated films throughout the day.

Organizers will continue the market’s tradition of giving back to the community by donating part of the 2025 proceeds to “Cap La Yeu Thuong”, a charitable initiative, as well as philanthropic programs run by the EU Alumni Network in Vietnam (EAN).

The Digital Content Production Center of Vietnam Television launched this program in 2015 to connect donors with disadvantaged children nationwide through regular scholarships that support their education and future opportunities.

Through this effort, the EU Christmas Market 2025 seeks to spread compassion and inspire greater community engagement, contributing to a more caring and socially responsible society.
