Hanoi to organize cultural activities to mark the August Revolution (August 19)
Hanoi will hold various cultural activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2) from August 18.
Hanoi's Department of Culture & Sports held a press conference on August 18 to announce activities celebrating the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
The highlight of events is the exhibition on the house at 48 Hang Ngang street where late President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Declaration of Independence kicked off in Hanoi on August 18.
The exhibits include photos and items featuring the historical relic house and the historical background of the Declaration of Independence and its significance.
The exhibition aims to help visitors better their understanding of the historical value of the house.
The exhibition will last through the end of October, 2015.
From August 19 to the end of September, besides arts programs and exhibition, the “Ngay Hoi Am Nhac Mua Thu 2015” (Fall Music Festival 2015) will shake up Hanoi’s streets at ten different public locations in the city on August 23, featuring many local famous artists.
According to the municipal Department of Culture & Sports, the festival will take place at the Ly Thai To Monument, Dong Da Mound, Thong Nhat Park, Hanoi Station, Ta Hien street, Vincom Ba Trieu or Hoang Van Thu Monument, Cau Giay Park, IndoChina Plaza and August Revolution Square and in front of Dong Xuan Market.
Contemporary singers - including Uyen Linh, Bao Tram, Duong Hoang Yen, Dinh Manh Ninh, Luu Huong Giang, Hoang Bach and Khanh Linh and bands like Sign in, Nu Voltage and Click off are scheduled to take the stage.
The department also said at the conference, nearly 500 bicyclists from 40 teams nationwide will participate in the Hanoi Open Bicycle 2015 race. Accordingly, the competition will be held on August 23 around the King Ly Thai To statue area in Hoan Kiem district for competitors aged from 16 to 56.
Director of Hanoi Department of Culture & Sports To Van Dong said cultural activities this year will be implemented more attractive and saver than previous years. At present, many programs are funded by socialization sources, such as Hanoi Music Festival and the Hanoi Open Bicycle 2015 race.
