Hanoi to pilot smart public toilet

ToiletSmartPublic applies automation and information technology, making a difference compared to ordinary toilets.

Under the policy of the Hanoi People's Committee on expanding the public toilet network, Vinasing Company on December 27 installed a smart public toilet, named ToiletSmartPublic, in Bac Co park, Hoan Kiem district, the Government Portal reported.

According to a representative of Vinasing Commercial and Communication JSC, the ToiletSmartPublic model is tested for smart features and utilities and designed in accordance with ASEAN PulicToilet Standard 2016, suitable for Hanoi and Vietnam.

ToiletSmartPublic applies advanced automation and information technology, making a difference compared to ordinary toilets.

A ToiletSmartPublic facility is fully equipped with smart control system to automatically detect and notify its status (occupied or vacant), automatically wash and dry. Besides, it has a ramp and handrails for people with disability, facilitating children’s accessibility and easily-recognizable signs, among others.

If the ToiletSmartPublic test succeeds, Vinasing Company will select this model to replace the toilets installed at central points in Hanoi and this is also a prototype of a standard international portable toilet to serve political and international events in the city, the representative said.

Hanoi is working to install comfortable and modern toilets to become more friendly to local and foreign visitors.
