On September 5, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People`s Committee Ngo Van Quy met with Chairman of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA), Director General of Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Yuji Fujita on the verge of the 16th meeting of CPTA in Hanoi.
Thanks to the welcome of Hanoi's official, Chairman of CPTA, Director General of Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Yuji Fujita realized that Hanoi had many dramatic changes, proving that the city's economy is booming.
According to Yuji Fujita, Hanoi possesses long-standing cultural values, which is an advantage for the capital to attract more tourists. The chairman of CPTA expressed his hope that, through the 16th meeting of CPTA, Tokyo and Hanoi will have the opportunity to further exchange information and promote cooperation in the tourism field in the future.
For his part, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy told the chairman of CPTA about the development of tourism in Hanoi in recent years. In recent years, Hanoi receives about 24 million tourists per year on average, including about 5 million international visitors. Over the years, Japan has always been ranked third in terms of visitor growth to Hanoi.
Sharing the plan to make tourism a key economic sector of Hanoi, Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy said that the capital will continue to promote the implementation of five major goals. First, to focus on promotional activities, thereby helping visitors know more about Hanoi. Second, to improve the quality of destinations as well as tourism products. Third, to build up facilities, calling for investment in recreation areas. Fourth, to strengthen the development of information technology, smart tourism. Fifth, to improve the quality of human resources.
The Hanoi official expressed his wish that at the 16th meeting of CPTA, member cities will be more active in coordinating and supporting each other to develop tourism.
