Hanoi’s mayor highlighted efforts made by Ambassador Prak Nguon Hong in lifting bilateral relations.
Hanoi is committed to keeping promoting good relations with Cambodia’s Phnom Penh, contributing to expanding Vietnam-Cambodia relations, including cultural exchange, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung told outgoing Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Prak Nguon Hong on August 14.
Chung praised the contributions of the ambassador and the embassy staff in the organization of cultural activities and exchanges between people, as well as in the promotion of cooperation between enterprises of the two nations.
Hanoi’s mayor highlighted efforts made by the diplomat in lifting bilateral relations to a new high, expressing his hope Prak Nguon Hong will continue working to enhance relations between the two countries, and between Hanoi and Phnom Penh.
For his part, Prak Nguon Hong expressed his gratitude to the municipal People’s Committee and its chairman for their support.
He stressed that key events organized during his tenure in Vietnam were supported enthusiastically by the municipal authority.
Prak Nguon Hong hoped that his successor will continue to receive the support from Hanoi’s leaders to fulfill his duties, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as between Cambodia and Hanoi.
The diplomat said that in his new position, he will look to strengthen relations between the two countries and the two capitals.
