In recent years, the comprehensive strategic partnership of Vietnam – Russia is growing, especially the cooperative relations between Hanoi and Moscow in 2018 have developed in all aspects.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan has asked the Moscow Committee of the Russian Federation Communist Party to accelerate the "Moscow House in Hanoi" project, making an important contribution to cooperation between the two capital cities.
Tuan made the statement when hosting a reception for the delegation of the Moscow Committee of the Russian Federation Communist Party led by Parfenov Denis Andreevich, its second secretary and member of Russia’s Duma in Hanoi on December 24.
He affirmed that in recent years, the comprehensive strategic partnership of Vietnam – Russia is growing, especially the cooperative relations between Hanoi and Moscow in 2018 have developed in all aspects.
The standing vice chairman of the Hanoi People's Council also stressed that Hanoi is rapidly urbanizing, its economy is changing positively and the the city’s economy accounts for over 10% of the whole country. Hanoi and Moscow need to develop the economy under the motto of "mutual benefits".
In the ten months through October 2018, Hanoi's export turnover to the Russian market reached US$119 million but only accounted for 1% of Hanoi's total export turnover. Hanoi's imports from Russia made up 1.84% of its total import turnover. This rate is not matching the relationship between the two countries in general and the two capitals in particular.
For his part, Parfenov Denis Andreevich expressed his confidence that the new phase cooperation agreement signed between the Hanoi Party Committee and the City of Moscow Party Committee will create a new step to enhance and expand cooperation between two capitals.
Moreover, the number of tourists from Russia to Vietnam is much higher than those from Vietnam to Russia, thus the two sides need to take measures to increase the number of Vietnamese tourists to Russia, Parfenov stressed.
