Hanoi - Vientiane: deepening cooperation, efficiency and sustainability
On March 17, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Lao PDR in Vietnam - Thongsavanh Phomvihane.

He shared that the renovation of the Lao PDR and Vientiane Capital has recently achieved many great achievements, including significant support from Vietnam and Hanoi. On behalf of the government of Lao PDR and Vientiane City, Mr.Phomvihane expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Vietnam and Hanoi on the help and support in the past; while expectations of future bilateral relations will continue to promote efficiency, based on good relations and longstanding tradition by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane and the revolutionary predecessors, construction and accretion.
Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung thanked for those feelings, good impression of Ambassador Thongsavanh Phomvihane. He also affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always considers Vietnam - Laos relationship as special, deep and faithful relationship; City leaders are always thoroughly, deeply aware of the development of bilateral relations through practical cooperation, efficiency and sustainability are top concerns. "Cooperation of the two countries as significant as this year, the first time Laos as ASEAN Chair", Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung emphasized and confirmed that the next time, Hanoi is ready to support Laos to taste new location, while continuing to implement the content of bilateral cooperation commitments. In the context of economic - political world with many unexpected developments, the ASEAN community will bring both advantages and challenges for intra-group countries. Accordingly, Vietnam and Laos are facing common challenges in the management level, the production, the two sides should promote cooperation for mutual development. To the Hanoi People's Committee, Nguyen Duc Chung has directed that construction of the 5-year plan of cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane in the period of 2016-2020.
Ambassador Phomvihane Thongsavanh agreed with the judgment by Hanoi People's Committee Chairman and confirmed that in new position, he will attempt to become the bridge of cooperation development between the two countries and the two capitals.
