Hanoi has maintained good relations with Phnom Penh and other Cambodian localities, and has seen many practical gains.
Hanoi is always willing to enhance defense and security cooperation with Cambodia’s Phnom Penh city, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu stated on June 25.
Suu also appreciated the sustainable development of the Vietnam – Cambodia traditional relation while hosting reception for General Pusa Butdy, deputy commander of the Royal Cambodian Army and commander of the command of the special military zone of Cambodia in Hanoi.
He stressed that Hanoi has maintained good relations with Phnom Penh and other Cambodian localities, and has seen many practical gains. The relationship is well maintained via regular exchanges of delegations between the sides.
General Pusa Butdy’s visit is among the efforts of the two sides to join hands to build good friendship and cooperation, Suu added.
He also mentioned that Hanoi is facing many pressures in the development process in numerous fields, thus, the city is willing to cooperate with the Cambodian localities in all fields for mutual development.
For his part, Pusa Butdy affirmed the Cambodian army and people always bear in mind the sacrifices and contributions by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers to the country’s victory over the Pol Pot genocidal regime.
General Pusa Butdy also briefed some achievements of the Royal Government of Cambodia in 2018 as well as the directions set in the process of strengthening security and defense.
He thanked the Hanoi Military Command for donating VND7 billion (US$301,000) to build a canteen at the Non-commissioned School under the Cambodian Command.
