In the first quarter of 2019, Hanoi’s education sector achieved many positive results in all aspects with a focus on improving quality, according to the minucipal Department of Education and Training, the government portal reported.
In the first three months of the year, the capital’s education sector renovated teaching and learning methods, serving the 2019 national high school exam, conducted national high school tests for 12-grade students, carried out evaluation for the first term and deployed the second term of the 2018-2019 academic year at all levels.
Besides, the education sector implemented a plan to launch an emulation campaign on building a "green-clean-nice-safe" school model for the 2018-2019 academic year, piloted information technology application in teaching subjects according to the plan of "intelligent education development in Hanoi in the period of 2020-2025".
Especially, at the exam for gifted student at national high school in 2019, Hanoi continued to lead the country with 134 winners, including 11 first prizes. At the international maths talent contest 2019, Hanoi's team achieved high achievements with 48 prizes, including two gold medals, 15 silver medals and 23 bronze medals.
In the time ahead, the municipal Department of Education and Training will issue a "Plan for building toilet system in schools and its management" and "Plan for building more schools and classrooms" and effectively implementing the school milk program, among others.
