Hanoi's international visitors increase by 25% during 9 months

According to the report of the Hanoi Tourism Department, in the first 9 months of this year, the city welcomed more than 2.8 million international tourists, up 25% over the same period last year.

In September alone, the number of foreign visiors to Hanoi reached nearly 238,000 arrivals, down 3% over the same period. Domestic tourists to the capital were nearly 1.4 million passengers, an increase of 6% compared to the same period last year.
The city's total number of visitors reached more than 1.6 million passengers, up 5% over the same period. The municipal tourism sector earned the revenue of 4,386 billion VND, up 5% compared to the same period in 2015.
In January - September, international tourists to Hanoi reached more than 2.8 million passengers, up 25% over the same period last year.

During the reviewed time, domestic tourists reached more than 13 million arrivals, increasing by 6% compared to the same period in 2015. The total number of visitors reached more than 16 million passengers, an increase of 9% over the same period. Total income from tourism reached 46,009 billion VND, up 18% over the same period in 2015.
However, in September, 11 of the 26 key markets recorded a decrease of international visitors to Hanoi in comparison to the same period in 2015.
In the first 9 months of 2016, the number of international travelers from Hanoi's main markets maintained a significant rise compared to the same period of 2015, especially tourists from China reached more than 371,000 arrivals, up 95%; visitors from Korea were over 280,000, up 30%; tourists from Thailand reached more than 64,000 passengers, up 45%; Germany was nearly 78,000 visitors, up 33%; and those from Canada reached more than 46,000 arrivals, up 34%.

The number of foreign visitors to Hanoi from some potential markets saw an increase in the period compared to the same period last year, including: India: nearly 25,000 visitors, up 46%; Denmark: more than 20,000 arrivals, up 50%; the Netherlands: nearly 37,000 visitors, up 40%, and Ireland was nearly 16,000 passengers, up 153%.
The number of Hanoi's international tourists accounted for 41% of the total number of the country's foreign visitors (more than 7.26 million arrivals) in the first 8 months of  2016, and made up 39% of the total number of international visitors in Vietnam in three quarters of 2016.
