Hanoi's tourism sector focuses on exploiting international key markets

In 2015, Vietnam welcomed about 7.94 million foreign tourists, up 0.9% compared with 2014, while the number of international visitors to Hanoi reached nearly 3.3 million arrivals, up 8% againt a year ago.

In 2016, Hanoi's tourism sector plans to focus on exploiting the international key markets.
In recent years, the image of Hanoi has been considered to be more beautiful in the eyes of foreign tourists and journalists. Smart Travel travel magazine has chosen Hanoi to be one of the 10 most attractive destinations in Asia in the past 5 years. The capital of Hanoi was named the world's 4th most attractive destinations in 2015 by Trip Avisor magazine.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Do Dinh Hong stressed that the positive results were attributed to the city's attractive tourism resources with high-quality services. In particular, the friendliness and hospitality of local residents has contributed significantly for the city turning into an attractive and safe destination.
In 2016, Hanoi strives to attract about 3.77 million foreign tourists, an increase of 12% compared with 2015.
To realise the goal, in the first day of 2016, during the framework of the programme themed "Memories of Hanoi" that took place at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the municipal Department of Tourism organised a ceremony to welcome the first international visitor to Hanoi in 2016.
Through the activity, Hanoi wishes to send the message showing the city is always an attractive, friendly and hospitable destination, welcoming visitors from all continents of the world arriving in the capital.
In particular, in order to stimulate and attract international travelers, in 2016, Hanoi will focus on exploiting the international key markets.

According to General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism  Nguyen Van Tuan, in 2016, Hanoi will host the International Tourism Fairs in Japan, US, UK and China which are the key markets of the city.
In addition, the municipal Tourism Department in collaboration with the National Administration of Tourism and Vietnam Tourism Association will organise the promotion activities in Russia.
The department will focus on diversifying resources for the investment, development and improvement of the quality of unique tourism products.
At the same time, Hanoi will hold numerous key activities to promote tourism, such as Vietnam - Hanoi International Tourism Fair 2016, Hanoi traditional craft villages and tourism festival 2016.
With these plans, Hanoi will create a strong impression, attracting more foreign visitors to the city in the coming time.
