Hanoi’s voters paid special attention to maritime sovereignty
Voters in Ha Noi`s Ba Dinh, Tay Ho and Hoan Kiem districts, etc. showed their concern about developments in the East Sea.
Hanoi's voters also backed Party and State policies on solving the East Sea issue and creating socio-economic development. They showed strong support for measures in dealing with China's illegal placement of its oil rig, Haiyang Shiyou-981, in Viet Nam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
The Party leader said that China's acts seriously violated international law and Viet Nam's sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction as well as agreements between leaders of the two countries.
The Party leader reiterated Viet Nam's advocate to solving the issue by peaceful means on the basis of international law, including legal procedures. They called on voters to heighten vigilance so that extremists did not take advantage of the issue to undermine the country's development.
