The 8th edition of Hue Festival, themed“Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development”, will be held from April 12-20, 2014.
A press conference was organized on December 12 in Ha Noi to introduce the Hue Festival 2014.
The event, held within the Forum for East Asia and Latin America Cooperation, will be divided into two parts including the Viet Nam traditional culture and integration with cultures in five continents.
The Festival will introduce to visitors a series of cultural activities such as Nam Giao Offering Ritual, Royal Night, Ao Dai Festival, Oriental Night, musical performances, folk games, puppetry, martial arts and dance performances during the event.
Some highlights will be ‘Huong Xua Lang Co’ (Fragrance of ancient village) in the 500-year-old Phuoc Tich ancient village in Phong Hoa Commune in Phong Dien District; real replicas of old-age markets of Thanh Toan Tile Bridge across the Nhu Y River in Thuy Thanh Commune; ‘Colors of Childhood’ children festival; the Thuan An-Call of the Sea at the Thuan An Beach in Phu Van District.
A number of famous art troupes of five continents from France, Japan, Mexico, the US and Palestine will perform at the event.
Up to now, 101 nations and territories have registered to join the event, which is expected to attract the attendance of 500,000 visitors.
