Huong Pagoda - Hanoi's most attractive destination during Tet holiday
Huong Pagoda ranked the first in the most attractive destinations in Hanoi during 2016 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, attracting 250,000 visitors.
According to the report of Hanoi Tourism Department, during the first 9 days of the 2016 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday (February 6-14), the city welcomed 464, 261 tourists, up 37% compared to the same period last year.
The number of international arrivals reached 114,261, up 65% over the same period, and domestic tourists was 350,000 arrivals, up 30% over last year.
The total tourism revenue for the nine-day Tet holiday reached 1,436 billion VND, up 44% over the same period.
Some cultural destinations, festivals that gathered numerous tourists are Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) with 165,000 passengers, Ngoc Son Temple with 60,000 arrivals, Huong Pagoda - 250,000 passengers, Centre for Heritage Preservation of Thang Long - Hanoi with 10,000 visitors, and Ba Vi National Park received 20,000 tourists passengers.
In the period, all local units of tourist accommodation has done very well the ensure of food safety.
Specially, during the Tet holiday, a lot of big hotels in Hanoi capital held the New Year's Eve for the guests staying at the hotels in various ways such as organising New Year party and festival, gifting cards and flowers.
The report pointed out that from early 2016 to February 14, the average occupancy rate of hotels from 5-star to 1-star level was estimated to reach respectively 56.2%, 52.7%, 55.5%, 57.2% and 60.5%.
Under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Hanoi People's Committee, the municipal Department of Tourism carried out positively the propaganda for the Tet's organisation to staffs and guaranteed schemes and equipments for fire protection.
