ICT Summit 2013 to open tomorrow

PM Nguyen Tan Dung and former Japanese PM Yukio Hatoyama were the special guests of the Viet Nam ICT Summit 2013, scheduled to open in Ha Noi o­n June 20.

The Hanoitimes - PM Nguyen Tan Dung and former Japanese PM Yukio Hatoyama were the special guests of the Viet Nam ICT Summit 2013, scheduled to open in Ha Noi o­n June 20.

Entitled “ICT - The new paradigm of development for Viet Nam”, the summit was a rendezvous for policymakers and ICT business managers to identify trends, share visions and plan strategies as well as seek solutions to make ICT the foundation of national development.

Topics like national ICT infrastructure, ICT and institutional reform, macro-economic competitiveness, ICT and enterprises’ competitiveness, and ICT and higher education reform, was high o­n agenda of this year’s event.

According to VINASA Chairman Truong Gia Binh, this year’s summit aims to increase the entire society’s awareness of the viewpoint that ICT is the foundation of the new development model, moving towards a knowledge-based society and fast and sustainable growth.

Initiated by the Viet Nam Software Association (VINASA) in 2011, ICT Summit is the most important event of the country’s software and ICT industry.
