Air passengers entering Vietnam will continue to self-isolate in their offices or regulated accommodation establishments after testing negative twice.

Foreigners holding diplomatic and official passports and their relatives are required to present papers certifying their negative results of RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 issued by the competent health authority of the host country within three days before departure. The incoming people must undergo RT-PCR test again immediately after arriving at the quarantine area.

The measure also applies to foreigners who are experts, investors, business managers, high-tech workers, international students, foreign relatives of Vietnamese citizens and Vietnamese people.

For passengers in transit to a third country, they must undergo 14-day quarantine period.

Foreign experts entering Vietnam with duration of less than 14 days will not have to undergo 14-day quarantine but must strictly comply with regulations on Covid-19 prevention by the Ministry of Health.

Starting on September 15, the country will reopen four international routes to/from Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Guangzhou (China) and Taipei (Taiwan, China), and from September 22, flights to Phnom Penh ( Cambodia) and Vientiane (Laos) will resume with a maximum frequency of two flights per week for Vietnamese airlines and their partners per route.

The total number of people on flights, collection of fees and other immigration conditions are implemented based on the principles agreed with the partners.
