Int’l conference held to promote economic reforms for inclusive, sustainable growth

Drastic economic reforms and proactive international integration are fundamental to creating a new momentum for Viet Nam to achieve a fast and sustainable growth in the future.

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh was speaking at the International Conference on economic reforms for inclusive and sustainable growth: International experience and lessons for Viet Nam held in Ha Noi on March 24.

The acceleration of international integration is a chance and motive to promote economic reforms, he said.

He confirmed that Viet Nam will do its utmost to renew the institution, complete policies and laws, improve the competitiveness of the economy and enhance communication and competitiveness of integration.

Viet Nam is launching the Socio-economic Development Strategy in the phase from 2011-2020 and three strategic breakthroughs including market economy development, high-quality human resources and modernization of infrastructure.

Deputy PM, FM Minh asked the participants, including domestic and foreign scholars to focus discussion on five crucial issues including the promotion of State role in the market economy, establishment of a modern economy for inclusive and sustainable growth, the relations between short-term stabilization of the macro-economy and mid and long-term mechanism reforms, the role of agriculture in inclusive and sustainable growth and economic connections in global value chain and production network.
