The program is within the framework of annual exchange and introduction of Israel culture and arts in Vietnam.
The Israel & Vietnam Folk Harmony program hosted by the Israeli Embassy to Vietnam, and Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is slated to take place at Tuoi Tre Theater (Youth Theatre) in Hanoi on August 25.
At the event, Israeli folk dance troupe “Hora Shemesh” will delight the audiences with their performances combining traditional dancing with modern characteristics, thereby demonstrating the Israeli culture and aspects of life.
The dance group, which was founded 25 years ago by dancers from the southern part of Israel, has been renowned among Israeli people as some of their representations have massive participation of performers, supported by vibrant costumes, often create cheerful and dynamic atmosphere.
After this event, “Hora Shemesh” is slated to have a second performance in Lao Cai on 29 August.
“The Israeli performances aims to introduce to our Vietnamese friends the beauty and simplicity of the Israeli popular culture”, said Nadav Eshcar, the Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam.
The Israel & Vietnam Folk Harmony representations are joined by some performances of Vietnamese artists and troupes including the bamboo ensemble ‘Suc Song Moi’ (New Vitality), under the conduct of Dong Quang Vinh will show off a repertoire by purely traditional bamboo flutes as well as some Central Highlands famous symphonies, Trinh Cong Son’s songs, and classical music with folk instruments.
