The giving took place during a reception between Hanoi Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung and Italian Ambassador to Vietnam accompanied by leaders of d’Amico International Shipping, on April 9.

According to Antonia D’Amico, Director of the firm, it currently runs around 160 tankers across the world, which carry oil, fossil and semi-finished products from oil. D’Amico have representatives at more than ten countries, though headquartered in Rome, Italy.
The firm had a shipbuilding contract with Hyundai Vinashin shipyard in 2014, including 16 oil vessels worth over US$600 million, 13 of which put to sea while the rest three liners to be launched soon. “Ships built in Vietnam are all in line with international environment-friendly and safety standards”, Antonia claimed. Also at the meeting, Mayor Chung, on behalf of Hanoi city, received a ship model namely “Hanoi sky” from the firm as an icon for d’Amico’s cooperation commitment to Vietnam and contribution to the friendship of Vietnam and Italy.
Italian Ambassador belives the meeting reflects both sides own mutual concern of sustainable and eco-friendly cooperation in the future.
Hanoi Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung thanked the Italian Embassy for its role in arranging the meeting. He also highly appreciated the goodwill and commitment of the Italian firm for further cooperation with Vietnam.
