Italy concerned about stability and security in East Sea
In the working visit to Vietnam, President Sergio Mattarella said Italy concerned about stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in East Sea as well as all over the world.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung suggested the President and Prime Minister of Italy to promote the parliament soon ratify the Agreement on partnership and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and EU (PCA); support soon officially sign free trade agreement between Vietnam and European Union (EU), as well as the EU to recognize Vietnam's market economy status.
President Sergio Mattarella said his visit was aimed at confirming the determination of Italy to strengthen ties with Vietnam. "The visit is very important for us and very important for Italian assess to strategic partnership with Vietnam" - President Sergio Mattarella stressed and said Italy considers Vietnam as an important partner in the area. President expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics, trade and investment potential for cooperation in this field between the two great countries.
President Sergio Mattarella affirmed the support of the Italian Parliament for the ratification of the PCA, as well as Italy soon recognize Vietnam's market economy.
On the issue of the East Sea, President Sergio Mattarella concerned about stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea as well as all over the world. Sharing views on ensuring peace and stability in the region, under which all disputes in the East Sea to resolve by peaceful means on the basis of international law. UN Convention on the Law of the Sea in 1982 and the DOC are the basis for the settlement. President expressed hope that the parties will not have the unilateral action as tension and instability in the South China Sea; also appreciated the stance and actions of Vietnam in preserving peace and stability in the region.
