Japan promotes Tokyo tourism in Hanoi

A workshop themed “Promoting Tokyo tourism in Hanoi” was held on the morning of January 26 in Hanoi to attract more Vietnamese tourists to its capital.

General Director of Tokyo’s Bureau of Industrial and Labour Affairs Yamamoto Tahashi said, in 2014,  Tokyo has organised activities to promote Tokyo tourism in Vietnam.
Hanoi has supported Tokyo to introduce its top tourist sites through posters on Japanese festivals and destinations and videos on Japan’s localities, while Japan’s tourism sector has likewise implemented campaigns to promote Vietnam’s tourism, he noted.  In 2015, Tokyo and Hanoi will implement promotional activities to atract more tourists travelling between the two capital.

According to Takashi Yamamoto, the number of visitors travelling between the two nations has increased remarkably in recent years.  Last year, Japan received 13 million foreign visitors, including about 124,000 Vietnamese nationals.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Truong Minh Tien said: "With the aim to receive one million Japanese tourists travelling Vietnam, 200,000 Vietnamese visitors traveling Japan in 2017, Vietnamese tourism in general, Hanoi and Tokyo tourism  in particular has been actively coordinating activities to promote the bilateral tourism cooperation”.
