On the morning of September 14, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai, the Secretary of the Party Committee in Ha Noi City welcomed Mr. Seko Hiroshige - Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

Mr. Hoang Trung Hai expressed his pleasure at the improvement of Vietnam-Japan relationship in general, Hanoi - Japan in particular and affirmed that in the past years, the situation of import and export, promotion of investment, trade and tourism between Hanoi and Japan has been growing. "Total 32 projects funded by ODA loans from Japanese Government (over 2.9 billion USD) along with major projects of Japanese investors deploying in Hanoi has contributed to changing Hanoi appearance"- said Mr. Hoang Trung Hai.
Agreed with the sharing from the city leaders, the Minister said that through recent visits, Vietnam and Japan have signed many cooperation documents including the projects implemented in Hanoi capital. Therefore, the purpose of this visit is to concretize and implement the signed documents, while affirming the desire to enhance the cooperation with Vietnam and Hanoi, especially in significant areas such as synchronous urban infrastructure development and urban railway construction.

Mr. Hoang Trung Hai said Hanoi shall deploy total 10 urban railways projects with total investment amount of about USD 40 billion. With such large capital, the City will diversify its resources, from ODA loans to social capital. Therefore, Hanoi wishes to enhance cooperation with Japanese partners in the implementation of urban railway projects in pre-feasibility study of urban railway No. 2, supporting in training project managers, sharing experiences in implementing public-private partnership projects, and hopes the Japanese Government to continue providing ODA loans to some large projects in Hanoi. On this basis, he wishes the Minister to continue improving comprehensive cooperation, particularly in the economic, commercial and industrial fields between Hanoi and Japan for the development of Vietnam and Hanoi.

The Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Seko Hiroshige said that in October, Tokyo Metro Company will send delegates to survey and conduct pre-feasibility studies of Hanoi No.2 urban railways, Nam Thang Long - Noi Bai section, and expected Hanoi to complete the approval of total investment adjustment.
Through this visit, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung wished the Minister to continue enabling Japanese enterprises to increase cooperation and investment in Hanoi, in which deploying some large projects such as Bac Hanoi urban area of Sumitomo Corporation; projects of Nidec Group deployed in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park ...
The Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Seko Hiroshige thanked for the privilege and favorable conditions of Ha Noi City for Japanese enterprises and affirmed that he would convey these policies of Hanoi to Japanese enterprises to increase investment activities in Hanoi.
