Khanh Hoa to set up Tourism Businesses Association for Chinese visitors

The Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has decided to set up Tourism Businesses Association welcoming Chinese visitors.

The Tourism Businesses Association will help and strengthen supervise on travel enterprises for deal with issues related to the increasing number of Chinese visitors in Khanh Hoa province, according to Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
At the present, the association has 22 members. They are travel businesses from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa province, Da Nang city… Those businesses only serve Chinese visitors. In addition, Khanh Hoa has Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, with 140 members.
China took the lead in the numbers of foreign arrivals to Vietnam with more than 4 million visitors in 2017, accounting for 31% of the total number of foreign tourists, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
In which, Khanh Hoa province and Da Nang city, which are both attractive to Chinese tourists, are forecast to receive a large number of tourists from the neighboring country in 2018. More than 1.11 million Chinese tourists visited Khanh Hoa province in January-November, 2017, posting a record growth rate of 130% against the same period last year, according to the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
The market segment of Chinese visitors is thought to hold great potential for NhaTrang city in the south-central Khanh Hoa province and the city should target mid-end to high-end Chinese tourists in the time ahead, said Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association’s representative.
The proposal was made at a recent meeting between Khanh Hoa leaders,the provincial department of tourism, and travel companies.
The number of tourists to Nha Trang in January surged to 235,200, a rise of more than 144% compared to the same period last year with visitors primarily coming from China and Russia, according to a report from the provincial tourism department.
