Various cultural activities will be organized in the week, introducing Lao cultural traits to Vietnamese people later this month.
Lao Culture Week in Vietnam will take place in Hanoi, Danang, and Hoi An from July 18-22, with a range of art performances by 35 artists from the Lao National Art Troupe.

According to the organizers, the 12 most unique and attractive art pieces will be performed to introduce to Vietnamese people the outstanding cultural features of Laos.
Deputy Director of the Department of Arts and Culture under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism Vanxi Soukchaleun said that the art programs to be performed at the festival show the close cooperation between the two parties, the two states as well as the friendly relationship between the peoples of Laos and Vietnam.
“The performances represent the daily life activities of Lao people, and at the same time express the wish that the cooperation between the two peoples of Laos –and Vietnam will always be sustainable and stand the test of time,” he stated.
Having performed many times in Vietnam, singer Lotchana Anoulak from Laos National Art Troupe still feels excited about her upcoming visit to Vietnam. “I feel extremely happy when I sing Vietnamese songs because of their vibrant rhythm and meaningful lyrics,” she told Vietnam News Agency.
In order to sing Vietnamese songs better, she often asks others to explain the meaning of the lyrics carefully, then, infuses her own emotions into each performance.
Parallel to Lao Culture Week in Vietnam, Vietnamese Culture Week in Laos will also take place at the same time. These are activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Laos-Vietnam Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022).
