The largest bandwidth cable route uses the most modern transmission technology, helping to connect countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
The international Asia Direct Cable (ADC) has successfully landed in Vietnam’s southern province of Binh Dinh, which is the cable route with the largest bandwidth in Vietnam so far, according to Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel).
Three times as large as the capability of Asia Pacific Gateway (APG), the ADC has an undersea length of 9,800 kilometers and a total capacity of more than 140 Terabits per second (Tbps).

It uses the most modern transmission technology, helping to connect countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and has a total initial investment of US$290 million.
When in operation, the ADC cable route is expected to add 18Tbps to Viettel's total international connection capacity, contributing to providing a large number of high-speed internet connections from Vietnam to other countries.
Deputy General Director of Viettel Solutions Doan Dai Phong said that the ADC is able to meet the deployment of international internet connection applications requiring high speed such as Internet of Things (IoT), automation, AI, artificial reality/virtual reality (AR/VR).
“Besides, it can ensure the safety and redundancy of the network, and the quality of internet services and other international connection services of Viettel. Under the plan, ADC will be officially put into commercial operation in 2023,” Phong added.
The ADC links nations and territories in the Asia-Pacific region like Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, China, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The ADC is the fifth undersea cable route and the one with the largest investment of Viettel so far, on the basis of investment and construction cooperation with leading telecoms groups in the world like Singtel, China Telecom, SoftBank, China Unicom, NT, PLDT, TATA Communications.
