Over 7,000 orders for Apple iPhone 6 have been placed on the mobile phone retail website thegioididong.com after this retailer announced discounts of 60% or VND1.6 million for customers. However, it is still unclear whether this smartphone will arrive in Vietnam this October or not.

The website forecast iPhone 6 would appear on the Vietnamese market in October and that it would stop taking new orders by then.
Apple has not confirmed the official launch of iPhone 6. However, it has sent out invitations to the media for a launching ceremony on September 9. Some foreign electronics media asserted Apple would present iPhone 6 and iWatch on the same day.
Doan Van Hieu Em, mobile phone sales director of Thegioididong.com, told the Daily there were 5,000 customers placing orders three days after his firm started the promotional program. So far, thegioididong.com has sold iPhones distributed by FPT.
FPT Trading, the official distributor of iPhones in Vietnam, has no formal information about the arrival of iPhone 6 in Vietnam’s market. According to representatives of FPT Retail, its retailers FPT Shop and F.Studio do not take pre-orders for iPhone 6 at the moment.
FPT Shop stores affirmed they would not receive orders for the new product until there is an official announcement from Apple. The new model is expected to be in Vietnam’s market in November.
iPhone 6 will certainly cost higher than the latest model iPhone 5S 16GB worth VND16.5 million, said FPT Retail.
