Ministry lists top ten culture, sports and tourism event of the year
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the top 10 most outstanding events of 2013 in the sector.

The list was made after consulting from press agencies and the ministry’s selection council.
The most outstanding of these events in the past year include:
1. Review of 15 years implementing the 8th Central Party Committee’s 5th Resolution on the building and development of Vietnamese culture that is combined between modern and typically traditional characters.
2. UNESCO’s recognition of Don Ca Tai Tu's music in southern Vietnam as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
3. Success of several festivals including, Vietnamese ethnic minority groups week, Quang Nam heritage festival 2013, the first Khmer boat race festival of the Mekong Delta region in Soc Trang Province; and the 8th Northwestern culture, sports and tourism festival in Hoa Binh Province.
4. Success of Culture Days and Culture Weeks on the occasion of the anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

5. Year of Vietnamese Families, 2013.
6. High achievements of Vietnamese sports teams at international events, including ranking third at the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG 4), ranking third at SEA Games 27, ranking seventh at the second Asian Youth Games, and ranking fifth at 2013 Asian Youth Para Games.
7. High achievements of Vietnamese swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien who won three gold medals and one silver medal at the second Asian Youth Games as well as breaking medal record at SEA Games 27 with three gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
8. Local sports games in preparation for the seventh National Games 2014.
9. Vietnam welcomed 7.5 million international tourists along with 35 million domestic tourists bringing up tourism revenues to VND200 trillion (USD9.46 billion), two years ahead the target for 2015.
10. National tourism year of the Red River Delta – Haiphong 2013 and International Conference on Spiritual Tourism for Sustainable Development
