Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in Dien Bien
The 2025 Cherry Blossom Festival in the northern province of Dien Bien took place from January 10 to 12 showcasing cultural, artistic, and sporting events to promote the province's tourism. In 2024, Dien Bien welcomed 1.85 million tourists and earned over US$140 million in tourism revenue.
Vietnam Kendo Federation established to develop martial arts and global ties
The Vietnam Kendo Federation (VKF) founding congress opened on January 12 in Hanoi to elect the executive board for the 2025-2030 term. Kendo, a Japanese martial art emphasizing discipline and respect, has nearly 10,000 practitioners in Vietnam. The VKF aims to enhance training, expand nationwide practice, and foster global cooperation.
Can Tho’s 2025 Tet Market supports workers
The “2025 Trade Union Tet Market” took place on January 11 in the southern city of Can Tho, featuring 65 stalls offering discounts from 10 to 70% and many practical activities for workers. In 2024, the Can Tho Labor Federation provided nearly US$1.7 million in support for disadvantaged members, housing construction, medical check-ups, scholarships, and Tet gifts, improving the lives of workers and union members.
