Dao Nguyen Khanh Trang won first place in the Miss VSAM 2014 pageant, organised by the Vietnamese Students Association in Malaysia.
Trang, a Nottingham University student, impressed the judge and the audience at HELP University in Kuala Lumpur, with her gracefulness, outstanding performance, and cleverness in answering the judge’s questions.
Le Viet Hang, another Nottingham University student, came in second, while the second runner-up title was awarded to Le Mai Ly from HELP University, who also won the audience’s vote award.
The most talented award was given to Nguyen Thi Mai Lan from Nilai University. Nguyen Claudia Hai Duong from Inti University was crowned for her gracefulness in the traditional costume.
Tran Quoc Huy, president of the Vietnamese Students Association in Malaysia, said the pageant was held to create a useful playing ground for Vietnamese students in Malaysia, helping them show off their talent, increase confidence, and integrate well into local communities.
The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in Malaysia, HELP University, representative office of Vietnam Airlines, FPT Company in Malaysia and Malaysia’s Friendi Mobile.
