Movement on strengthening the control of air quality launched in Hanoi

The Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment has just released Plan No. 2640 on launching the emulation movement under the theme “Strengthening the control of air quality in the Capital city” in 2018.

Under the Plan, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will coordinate with People’s Committees of districts to make inspection plans following the working program in 2018 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Municipal People’s Committee; 
At the mean time effectively deploying solutions to strengthen the popularization so as to reduce the use of beehive-shaped coal bricks in some districts and towns in the areas; enhance the popularization of measures to use environmentally friendly stoves in order to fulfill the target of stopping the use of beehive coal poses by 2020 in the Capital city.
The department also effectively deployed measures to stop the burning of the straw in the area according to the roadmap approved by the Municipal People’s Committee in 2018.
Besides, the department in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Investment will focus on installing 70 additional automatic air monitoring stations and 10 water surface monitoring ones in the form of socialization in 2018 and put into operation in 2019; improving and supplementing equipments for management and reception of monitoring data from automatic monitoring stations
