Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on October 6 welcomed newly appointed Ambassador of Vietnam Nguyen Thanh Son to the Presidential palace in Yerevan.

In a ceremony held at the palace, the Armenian President approved the credentials of the new ambassador.
President Sargsyan wished the Vietnamese envoy every success in his new position, saying Armenia and Vietnam have huge potential to enhance their political and economic relations.

After the approval of his letter of credence, Ambassador Son recounted his fond memories of his years of study in Yerevan and graciously said he looks forward to the challenges of his new position.
After the official ceremony, the two sides discussed setting up an inter-governmental committee as a mechanism to facilitate economic cooperation, trade and investment between the two nations
