The country is willing to to help Hanoi in training foreign language teachers and municipal staffs, said New Zealand Ambassador during the meeting with Hanoi Vice Mayor.
The Vice Mayor of Hanoi Nguyen Doan Toan met New Zealand Ambassador on April 11 to discuss on numerous cooperation chances.
According to Toan, as a super city with population of about ten million, Hanoi faces challenges to develop economy and raise its citizens' living standard. Therefore, the authority sets priority to build highly competent human resources for the fourth industrial revolution, and to develop a smart city and e-governance system, added Toan. Basing on earlier negotiation, Hanoi will send a delegation of teachers and municipal staffs for a learning trip in New Zealand, specified the Vice Mayor.
For her part, Matthews said New Zealand is joining in several activities within Vietnam’s national foreign language education project with the attendance of about 600 Vietnamese state officers. The country, with deep experience in education area, is able to provide Vietnam as well as Hanoi city with training programmes for high-quality managers, she added.
The ambassador highlighted her country’s strength in e-governance, which is also a sector New Zealand wants to collaborate in with Vietnam and Hanoi.
