Nha Trang Sea Festival 2017 with themed “Extending the circle of friendship” was opened in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on June 10th.

In this year, the beach festival in Nha Trang taking place from June 10 to 13 with 50 cultural, sport and tourist activities and expected to lure about 150,000 visitors to participate in a host of activities. The opening ceremony held in 2 Thang 4 Square with the participations of domestic and international art troupes from France, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Spain and Australia.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam appreciated economic and tourist potentials of Khanh Hoa. Mr. Vu Duc Dam hoped that the province will promote their strengths in natural landscapes and traditional cultural identity to further develop tourism and become an attractive destination of domestic and international visitors.
Held every two years, the festival aims to promote sea and island tourism of Vietnam as well as the beauty of Nha Trang Bay and cultural tradition of Khanh Hoa Province.
The highlight of Nha Trang Sea Festival 2017 is the street festival held from 9a.m to 10p.m on two days of 12 and 13 June across main streets from Nha Trang City to Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel (Dien Khanh District). With flower cars decorated according to diversified themes, the street festival is expected to promote the potential of Nha Trang sea tourism and typical cultural features of Khanh Hoa Province to domestic and international visitors.
In addition, many exciting responding activities are also held at this year’s festival such as street lion-dragon dance festival; Khanh Hoa bird’s nest festival; Me Trang coffee festival; cuisine festival; whale worshipping festival, bai choi singing, folk games on beach (fishing contest, human chess, tugging), seminar on “Sustainable development of bird’s nest trade”; international trade fair; etc.
