North Korea`s leader Kim will pay a visit to Vietnam in "coming days" as revealed by KCNA before he boarded train to Vietnam for the summit.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is scheduled to stay in Vietnam through Saturday [March 2] as he will pay a two-day “good will” visit to Vietnam starting Friday, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The state news agency of North Korea gave no further information of the upcoming official visit, but described in detail Kim’s arrival to Dong Dang Station at the Vietnam-China border on Tuesday morning.
The KCNA reported that Kim Jong Un was greeted by DPRK Ambassador to Hanoi Kim Myong Gil as well as other top Vietnamese officials led by Politburo member and head of the Party’s Commission for Propaganda.
The agency quoted that Kim “expressed his gratitude for the cordial hospitality and honorable treatment shown by the Vietnamese party, government and people.”
Meanwhile, North Korea’s party-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun, on the front page of Wednesday’s edition, carried the reports as well, showing a dozen photos of Kim arriving at the station and his motorcade driving through streets lined with flag-waving local residents.
Previous KCNA reports on Kim’s train departure from Pyongyang said that the leader will “soon pay an official goodwill visit” to Vietnam where the “top leaders of the two countries will have a meeting and talks,” without providing the exact dates.
