"Norodom Hall to Independence Palace 1868 - 1966" displayed in HCMC

Nearly 800 exhibits have been shown, giving the viewer process of 100-year-establishment of the Unification Palace, which is considered to be the strength, the presence of the French in Cochinchina and the image of Vietnam in 1960.

The exhibition is being held from March 9 at the two-storey house located in the Independence Palace complex (Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

The exhibition was introduced in the house with French architecture. The remnants of the Norodom Palace is considered the strength, the presence of France in Southernern region.

The first floor introduces the birth of the Norodom Palace and portrays part of the Saigon life under French colonialism through four themes: colonial Saigon construction; Norodom Palace; The faces of Saigon, dynamic Saigon.

On the second floor, they introduce the formation and collapse of Ngo Dinh Diem government and the process of building the Independence Palace on 6 themes: Nepotism, Struggle for power in Saigon, Saigon's life, the bombing of the main island in 1962, the construction of the new Independent Palace.

According to the organizers of this exhibition, the idea came when the exhibition was conceived in 2012. Then, they led the Reunification Hall and the consultants at home and abroad with a team of professional staff, who had to spent over 3 years collecting materials, building and developing the search content along with design consulting units, construction units.
