On October 17-18, the Northwest Tourism Fair 2014 took place in Ha Giang province to boost tourism linkages between the regional provinces.
Tran Duc Quy, Deputy Chairman of the Ha Giang People’s Committee said that the fair created a change in promoting the region’s popular destinations and tourism products, especially in community-based tourism.
The participated regional provinces were Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Hoa BInh, Son La, Lai Chau and Ha Giang.
A photo exhibition was held as part of the fair, showcasing 43 photos depicting the beauty of the region’s landscapes such as Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark in Ha Giang province.
Besides traditional tourism products, traditional folk songs, dances and music instrumental performances by local artists and ethnic people were also organized.
The organising board plans to hold the event annually with the aim of strengthening tourism cooperation in eight regional provinces.
