Opening HCM City Tourism Day 2017 in response to National Tourism Year

Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day 2017, which is being held at Le Van Tam Park, District 1 from March 23-26, is expected to attract about 300,000 visitors, according to the organising board.

This year's tourism festival gathers about 81 travel agencies, hotels, restaurants and hospitality colleges from 39 cities and provinces across the country to publicize their brands and offer tourist products to local and international travelers.
Particularly, this year's event features 170 booths and an area for startup business to introduce successful startups in tourism and hospitality and support policies for startups. On the occasion, “Startup Wheel 2017” – a competition for startup ideas will be launched.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the HCM City Tourism Day, Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Bui Ta Hoang Vu said the event is very important to the city as it aims to fuel domestic tourism and makes an opportunity for local and overseas tour operators to promote their products.
Travel agencies, airlines participating in the event, including Saigontourist, Ben Thanh tourist, TST Tourist. HCMC Tourism Association, Vietnam Airlines and others will offer discounts on tours and cheap airfares at the festival.

More than 30 companies, including tour operators, hotels, resorts and airlines, offers visitors special discounts of up to 50 percent. About 1,000 free tickets to the Cu Chi Tunnel historical relic site are given to visitors, who also get 30 percent off admission to Suoi Tien Complex.
Numerous activities including a photo exhibition on HCM City Tourism and a meeting between leaders of the tourism industry of provinces and cities and holiday makers will be organised during the event.
The festival also features musical performances to highlight beautiful landscapes and distinctive cultures of northwestern Vietnam in response to the National Tourism Year 2017 hosted by Lao Cai province.

In addition, a ceremony will be held on the sideline of the event to honour 100 leading tourism businesses in HCM City in line with a photo contest on the city’s beauty.
